Songbird Fairy

Good morning friends! I don't know what happened to this blog post, I had it in my Drafts folder forever, never hit that 'Post' button for some reason. This little fairy was colored up a while ago, after browsing through some of my older stamps. I forgot all about these beauties from Pergamano and quickly got to work on one of them. This fairy image was kind of a mystery to me as I studied it, she looked like she was sitting, but there was nothing in the clear stamp set for her to sit on. So I thought maybe she was flying in kind of a strange position....maybe....not.

I needed something for her to sit on and that's how the log was born.

So I drew it out with a permanent fine tipped pen and colored the whole thing with my Copics. Sometimes I seriously forget that I have the ability to draw and don't have to stamp absolutely every little thing!

Thanks for stopping by, hope you have a wonderful day!

Make a Wish Book Box

Hello everyone, I worked on this project all day yesterday and am so glad it's done. I love the way it came out though, it looks like a little book, but actually has a compartment inside for a little gift. I love these kinds of gift packages, so different! I got the tutorial from Butternut Sage, but I did see a couple of different ways to make it on various blogs.

Here's the inside of the book box with all the pretty Prima papers and punched borders. Instead of using a ribbon closure as shown in the tutorial, I wanted to use an elastic type fastener instead. I just used a pretty brad to hook a small loop of elastic string around to keep it closed.

The sweet little fairy is from a Pergamano stamp set, colored with Copics. I added lots of Stickles around her to make her sparkle.

Pretty cute, I think! Thanks for stopping by!

Flower Girl

Good morning everyone! If you all check out the Papertrey Ink design team's blogs, you might recognize these pretty flowers from Debbie Olson's blog a while back. I just fell in love with them and had to CASE them for this card. Pretty flowers for a pretty little girl. This stamp is from the Pergamano clear stamp set I found here

There are no patterned papers at all on this card, instead I stamped directly on the card base with PTI's Twinkle background set. I love making my own patterned papers, the possibilities are endless, especially when I need something 'just right'. In this case I wanted very soft, light colors so the flowers wouldn't be over powered.

I colored the little sweetie with my trusty colored pencils, her skin with Copics.

I'll be going away to visit my brothers in North Carolina on Thursday, so I won't be posting for the Lili of the Valley challenge. I hope my brother still has Wi Fi because I won't be happy without internet till Monday, lol! If not, I hope you all have a very Happy Easter!

Thanks for dropping by!

Fairy Friends

Good morning everyone! Here's another sweet fairy from the elusive Pergamano sets I was so desperately searching for several weeks ago. This one is from the Summer Fairies set. Doesn't she look so sweet sitting on her mushroom having a little chat with her friend Fairy Frog, lol?

As much as I love the Prima Fairy Flora papers {{LOVE}} there are a couple in the collection that are very bright as far as the colors go. This patterned paper is a perfect example. I wanted to use it so much, but it just looked so much more bold and vibrant than I was comfortable with. Then I remembered seeing Mel from Mel Stampz applying a wash of gesso over some patterned paper to tone down the colors a bit, and I knew that was the solution! I didn't use quite as much gesso as she did, just a faint wash to mellow the color a bit. I probably could've lightened it a bit more, but, I was much happier with it.

I made the crepe paper flower too, a result of playing around with my huge stash of the stuff, lol. I spritzed a piece of white crepe paper with some Glimmer Mists and after it dried I cut a long strip and started pleating it. I wasn't too careful, and it's definitely far from perfect, but I kind of liked it so I stuck it on there.

Hope you like it, thanks for visiting!

One Fine Day...

Good morning everyone! Finally a day off from work, no place to go, nothing to do but stay home and relax. Well, maybe I'll get a couple of chores done, not sure yet. Depends if I get in 'The Zone' making a card, lol!
Anyway, here's a card using a clear stamp set made by Pergamano that I have been waiting ages to get! I saw someone using these adorable little girls while blurfing a long time ago, immediately searched the web to order a set for myself, only to discover there was a GLOBAL shortage and no one had them! Very, very frustrating. I finally contacted the owner of A Touch of Grace and she was kind enough to let me know when she would have them back in stock. I love the delicate sweetness of these images, I'm just a sucker for girly things I guess!

The image was colored with colored pencils. I used an extra fine Sharpie white poster pen to add little highlights to the water.

Thanks for visiting, I hope you have a relaxing day too...
