Tree tops glisten...

Hello folks, I've been without internet all day and was seriously going through withdrawal! It really stinks to have a day off and not be able to go online, lol! 

But, it's finally back and now I can post this card that has been sitting in my drafts folder for a while now. As some of you may know, I've been a huge Papertrey Ink fan almost for as long as they've been in business. My stamping style has evolved and changed a bit, and I don't use their stamps as much as I'd like to. I just love coloring too much, but every once in a while they put out a set that I absolutely adore. This 'In the Meadow' stamp set is one of them. There is nothing about this set that I don't love, it is just beautiful. The best part? It comes with a matching set of dies. 

So here's the first card I made using the set. I love silhouette stamps used with beautiful brayered backgrounds, so that's what I went with. I used some Post It note masks for some snowy drifts along the bottom, sponged along the edges with ink. It's amazing how simple it is to create snow with this technique. A lot easier than Copics or colored pencils, IMO!

To create the shadows underneath the deer and critters, I took a Tombow blender pen scribbled in some of the same ink I used to sponge the snow and just created some shadows underneath them. 
I added some die cut trees to the background using coordinating patterned papers, a vellum fancy tag with Nestabling rhinestones and I have another beautiful card added to my stash. I have to make sure and get these out on time this year!

In the gloaming...

Hello everyone, I'm back with another card to share with you all. A bit different from my usual, using one of my favorite ink techniques with the brayer. 

This gorgeous silhouette stamp from 100 Proof Press caught my eye a while back when I was browsing the SCS gallery and I had to get it for myself. I love all the fine detail and the fact that for once, I didn't color it! I chose to emboss it in black superfine detail powder on top of a brayered background. 

I added some tiny little specks of white for twinkling stars and reflected ripples in the pond with an XF Sharpie Poster Paint pen, which I picked up from the brayer Queen, Michelle Zindorf. Such a tiny little detail that adds a whole lot to the finished card.

This card just soothes my soul, and it's going to my brother for putting up with us last week on our visit, lol!

Vintage Silhouettes

Good morning everyone! I hope you all are having a relaxing weekend so far. 

Lately, I find myself being drawn to silhouette stamps, especially vintage images. I don't think I've ever given them a second look before. Isn't is strange how our tastes change slowly over time? When I look back to when I first started making card, sometimes I ask myself, 'What was I thinking'?! lol. Now, when I see a silhouette stamp I have to display some sort of self control, I don't want to over do it.

Anyway, onto my card...

These darling images are from Rubber Stamp Shack. After I brayered a piece of paper with some pretty pastels, I stamped them in Versafine Black. When I know I MUST have a crisp, clear image, I always use the Versafine. It never fails me!

Things that go bump in the night...

This 'Branches' Cover a Card background stamp is probably the most awesome I have ever seen. I had to create a card that showed off as much of it as possible. I brayered a piece of cardstock with some Adirondack inks then used it to stamp and emboss with black embossing powder. The effect is simply amazing!

The sentiment is from a new Impression Obsession clear set  'A bump in the night'. Lots of great sentiments for all your Halloween cards in that one. 

No DP was used at all for this card, just a Spellbinders Label, and a strip of SU striped ribbon. Beautiful, yet eerie, no?

Well I'm off, it's another busy week here, getting ready for back to school! Man, does that ever put a huge dent in my crafting budget, LOL! I haven't bought anything crafting related in a month! I think I'm going through withdrawal....
