Simon & Lola in Love...

I love this Simon & Lola image from Sugar Nellie. Rachelle Ann Miller was one of the first illustrators who's blog I discovered by accident, fell in love with her artwork, and was ecstatic when I found out there were rubber stamps being made from her images! I love when that happens...
I wish I could color like her, though. Her talent for colors, textures and patterns is nothing short of genius!
I love the colors and patterns from this SU Simply Scrappin' kit DP's too. Perfect for Valentine's Day.
The image is colored with Copics.

I'm off to work this morning, uggghh. I hate working Saturdays. Catch ya later!

Christmas Teddy

I've had this stamp in my collection, uninked since last Christmas! I NEVER do that, usually I have to stamp it right away, just to try it out. I think I may have bought it right after Christmas, was so sick of all things holiday, that I just put it away. I was very happy to discover a 'new' stamp when I was digging around my collection!

I hope you like it, thanks for stopping by!

Card Submission for Stampavie

Stampavie is looking for a new DT member and I thought, why not? I'll give it a shot. I love their stamps, I'll keep using their stamps, so might as well see if they like my stuff, right?
I remember when Rachelle Ann Miller first put out some designs in stamps, I was over the moon! I had been an avid reader of her blog for a while, a big admirer of her work, so when I saw that I could get my hands on some rubber stamps, I jumped on it! Of course there were only a few companies that used her designs and they were over seas, so I had to wait...and wait....Torture! They're easier to find now, however, thank goodness!
Anyway, here's one of the first Stampavie designs I purchase a while ago, one of my faves. She's colored with colored pencils/OMS and Copics for her skin.
Hope you like it, I've got tons more if Stampavie cares to see!

Lola in the Garden

No DP on this card. I figured the shimmery lavender paper was beautiful enough just on it's own, not to need any. I did emboss it though with a Fiskars texture plate. The shimmer paper is called Stardream, and it is to die for.
Lola was colored with colored pencils, and sparkled up with Stickles. The flower is a Bosskutz die.

Thanks for stopping by, and have a great day!

Berry Sweetest

When I first saw PTI's new Melon Berry collection last month, my first thought was 'Strawberries'. I haven't done anything with it until I remembered the little strawberry stamps from 'Green Thumb'. So I quickly colored Lola holding her little kitty in matching colors.
I like the strawberries so much, I'm going to have to do it again, maybe devote a whole card to them, LOL.
Thanks for looking, see ya later!

Bright Spring Day

Isn't this little girl adorable?! She's a Rachelle Anne Miller design made by Ladybug & Friends. They have a collection of her designs a bit different from the clear ones put out by Stampavie, but every bit as adorable. The only difference is Ladybug & Friends are EZ mount rubber.
I used a lot of my new Polychromos colored pencils for this image, they are really wonderful to work with, especially for blending with OMS. I like their color range better than Prismacolors, especially the greens. I now officially have too many colored pencils, LOL!
Thanks for stopping by, and have a great weekend!

Just Ducky!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Isn't this little quacker just adorable?! He's another one of Rachelle Ann Miller's designs, made by Sugar Nellie that I've had for a while. I thought I would color him to coordinate with Stampin Up's new DSP 'Good Morning Sunshine'. Very retro, very cool! Then I used my JustRite stamper alphabets to create the 'You're Just Ducky' sentiment. You'll always have the right sentiment with those JustRite stampers, that's why I love 'em.

Hope it inspires!

Cheery Spring Colors

I need some cheery spring colors in my life right now, LOL! It's been so cold and gloomy. I'm tired of winter, I need to thaw out my frozen old bones! Colored this sweet little gal with some markers and reinkers. Another wool felt die cut flower embellishment too.
Thanks for stopping by!

Baby Shower Card

Please excuse the poor pictures, I really, really need a light box!

I don't think I've made many baby cards before, I can't think of any posted on my blog. But my aunt requested some for my cousin's upcoming baby, so I really had to dig through my stash to try and find something that would work! I have hardly any baby themed stamps! I thought this Rachelle Ann Miller stamp would would well though, and colored it entirely with very soft Distress Inks.
Pretty cute, eh! I'm going to make her a couple of different designs to choose from, because she's not sure what she wants, LOL.
Till later!

CPS #70 Challenge

OK, I'm going to try to participate in more challenges. I think it exercises the creative part of my brain if I'm using someone else's idea. So, here's my card for Card Positioning Systems blog challenge. Since I just got Papertrey Ink's new Grid Lines stamp set, I put it to perfect use for a border that this sketch called for. I also got my beautiful new bunny stamp designed by Rachelle Anne Miller for Ladybug & Friends. This was always one of my favorite illustrations by her, and I was so excited to see it made into a stamp!
