Happy Father's Day

Good morning friends, let's make sure to make the Fathers in our lives feel extra special today! My own father is far away in NC, but I've already sent him a card and hopefully he got it!

This card was so, so simple to make. I'm almost embarrassed, LOL. My kids gave it to Jim, who they consider their stepdad.

Most of the work has been done by the background paper, it's a printed design from Raspberry Road Designs 'The Old Tacklebox'. I also printed the sentiment right along with the background.

Then I simply stamped some of the large pine trees on the left side in black using Impression Obsession's Cover-a-Card stamp

I added the deer from SU's Nature Silhouettes, sponged in some 'grass' along the bottom, and it was finished.

I told you, too simple!

Have a great day!

Little Monster

Good morning folks! I was almost ready to panic for a while early this morning when our internet suddenly went out. Whenever our power goes out (last night), doesn't matter if it's for a few seconds, or a few hours, the internet goes mental for a while. I had a heck of a time trying to get it back up and running. If I could devote the time and energy into cleaning my house the way I do to get my internet up and running, I'd be living in a showplace haha!
So here's today's card using a classic Stamping Bella image, 'King of the Wild Things'. This is one of my favorite images for a little boy's birthday card. Such a cutie pie!

I paper pieced his costume with a polka dot pattern from the 'Tiny Woods' Kaisercraft paper pad. Added some shading with my Copics, then colored the rest of the image too. I went back with a white Souffle pen to add the dinosaur talons

Fish tail banners are so popular right now, I see them everywhere! Instead of trying to get them perfectly even and square with a ruler and blade, I quickly did a search in the Silhouette Store and found a digital set. For .99 (actually less, I bought a subscription for a year), I now have an unlimited number of fish tail banners in any size I could dream of! Woo hoo, I didn't have to fork over $27 for metal dies!! Love me my Cameo...

Hope this little monster makes you smile, have a great day!

Boys Love Cookies

Good morning friends! This month we're making stuff for the boys with circles as an optional addition to the theme. I know a lot of you have a hard time making cards for the boys/men in our lives, but I love making cards for boys! I think it's the cool patterns/textures and masculine colors. It's good to use different things than I usually do. So here's a little card and cookie tower box I came up with. The milk carton template is from the Silhouette store which I modified a bit with an oval opening so you can see the stack of cookies. I love how the Cameo not only cuts this box template out, but scores all the fold lines too! Super easy to put together.

The stamp I chose for the card is an oldie but goody, 'Milk and Biscuits' which I colored with Copics, and some colored pencils as well. I dug deep into the paper stash and came across this old SU collection with colors that were perfect for a little boy.

I added some banners to the card and the box that I cut with dies. I don't use these nearly enough, so it was perfect for this project.

I hope this helps you get some ideas for those sweet little boys in your life, they're so much fun. I'll have some more masculine themed cards later on this month, including the perfect card for Dad!

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!
