Mod Trees

While I was happily stamping away making backgrounds with PTI's Dot Spot set, there was always a tiny part of my mind thinking what awesome trees these stamps would make. I searched and searched through my many stamp sets trying to come up with a workable idea. Finally, in the deep dark corners of some of my very much unused sets, I rediscovered this tree stamp from an old Inque Boutique stamp collection. I have no idea if it's even made anymore, I think the company was bought by someone else. But it was perfect for what I had in mind.
I simply stamped the circular dot pattern in two colors of ink, then added the trunks. I love the effect!
I've also been wanting to create a zig zag pattern with the striped paper from PTI's Green Boutique collection, and set about trying it. It took a couple of tries, but this is what I came up with. I cut the patterned paper into strips, then alternated and flipped each one into this zig zag pattern. Sweet!
I love the way this card came out, which doesn't always happen when I'm trying new things! You should try it, it's a lot of fun when you hit on something that works!

Thanks for looking!

Floral Tapestry Card- Mojo Sketch #44

There is a very talented lady over at Poetic Artistry who comes up with the most wonderful sketches for her Mojo Monday sketch challenges! I love Julee's style. (And I love her stamps, too!)

This card was created using this sketch:

I don't usually use so many layers, and consider myself challenged when it comes to making really fancy, multi-layered cards like this one, so these sketches really help me in that department because I love the look! I'm going to be trying many more of these.
The flowers were colored with my Twinkling H2O's. I've had them for quite a while, and they are so pretty in their tiny little individual pots, but I found I wasn't using them much. Duh! I pulled them out and started using them. When an image needs more than just plain watercoloring, and a little more shimmer, these little gems are perfect.
See ya later!

CPS # 75 Sketch Challenge, Bloomin Hearts

This stamp set from Inque Boutique posed a bit of a challenge for me because it is HUGE! But I loved it, so I kept trying until I came up with something I liked. I only used about a third of the largest stamps, and layered some of the hearts to give them some dimension.

Stamps: Inque Boutique
Ink: Distress, Palette
Paper: Fabriano w/c paper, Cosmo Cricket, Bazzill, PTI
Accessories: Dew Drops, Wavy Edge scissors
