Foxy!

I think my Mojo is on vacation...I'm just not feeling it lately. I try and try to sit at my craft table and pick through this, pick through that trying to get inspired, but nothing is working out very well. This is actually a card I made a while ago, when my Mojo was still with me, LOL.
I used the striped ribbon for color inspiration. I love the warm earthy colors in it. And as luck would have it, it paired beautifully with the DP, which is from K & Co. (I think.)
Well, I'm off to work. Hopefully Ms. Mojo will be coming back from her little (very little, ultra mini in fact) vacation! I don't like not being creative, I get very restless.
Thanks for stopping by!

Branches of the Tree

We did a LOT of walking yesterday at Hershey Park! I've been to amusement parks tons of times, but I always forget exactly how much time we spend on our feet. I am a sore, tired zombie today, LOL. And I have to go to work in a few minutes! :-(

But-I have a card to share with you, using Impression Obsession's new HUGE background 'Cover-a-Card' stamps. They are gorgeous, especially this one called Tapestry 2. IO will also be selling new acrylic mounts that will work with these oversized stamps, which is what I need! I had to use one of my clear spacer plates from my Big Kick.

I actually inked it up with white pigment ink, then laid the paper down over it, then rolled a brayer to get a good impression. I was skeptical that I would get a good image, because I have never had luck with these large stamps before, but it worked beautifully! I am definitely liking these new stamps! I believe they will be available soon, maybe after CHA.

Elegant Peony

OK, sometimes I just get it right. Totally right, LOL. I adore how this card came out! I don't normally say that about my own stuff, but this is one of the few. It took me forever to color the flowers with Copics, (colored pencils are so much faster!) but I think the result was worth it. It's actually a card for my good friend and neighbor whose birthday is today. (It's also my daughter's birthday!) I hope she likes it as much as I do!
I am really loving the flower sets from Papertrey Ink, they are wonderful for coloring! They need to keep it up and keep putting out more flower stamps!
I also used silk ribbon to make this bow, and I am totally hooked on this stuff. I got it from Stamp Simply. The colors are luscious, and it ties beautifully.
Anyway, we're off to Hershey Park tomorrow, we couldn't go for Julie's birthday today, so we're going tomorrow instead. It's supposed to rain but I hope not, it's the only day we can go.

Polka Dot Picnic

Here's another card I made using Papertrey Ink's Vintage Picnic set. So fun! I love using sets that you can mix and match to create your own patterns/designs with.

The DP is Cosmo Cricket, I love the way they use unusual colors in their designs. Has anyone seen the new Jolly by Golly Christmas collection they're releasing soon? Wow! Pink Christmas! Love it! I don't think I've ever used pink for Christmas before, it's going to be fun trying it!

New Releases from Plum Purdy & Blog Candy!

Are you all ready for fall yet? I thought I wasn't when Renee asked me to make some samples for her, but as soon as I got those beautiful stamps in my hands I was raring to go! It was wonderful to pull out the harvest colored papers and ribbons. She's released tons of new designs for fall and Halloween, each one more fabulous than the last, LOL!
Here's a closer look at the Pumpkin Birdhouse. I colored the image in with my colored pencils and popped up the birdhouse with foam tape.
And what about this adorable Halloween card? Isn't this frog hilarious?
Renee also has a set of Halloween sentiments which I think are so much fun. Makes it so easy to add that perfect final touch.
Now here's the real fun. Renee has generously offered a $25 gift certificate for stamps from Plum Purdy, and I'm going to give it away as blog candy! Just leave a comment on this post! I will leave the contest open till midnight Sunday (7-19-2009), then Monday morning I will use Random.org to choose the winner.
Good Luck!

Gorjuss Early Bird

I forgot about this cutie card I made a couple of weeks ago for a sketch challenge, although I can't for the life of me remember which one. I had just gotten some of the new Early Bird papers from Cosmo Cricket and they inspired me to use a Gorjuss Girl stamp from Sugar Nellie. Sometimes my collection of stamps grows faster than I can use them, and periodically I go back through them to see what I want to use again. I don't like to get stamps that I only want to use once, LOL!

Here's a closer look at the card:
You may notice I've started layering my ribbons a lot. This came to me suddenly when browsing Strano Designs ribbons store. They have ribbon magnet sets (which is another idea I love) that really appealed to me, the combination of colors, the patterns-- it inspired me to use the idea for cards. I tried layering a very wide polka dot, with a slightly narrower stripe, with an even narrower sold all together in a bow, and loved the look! A very dramatic embellishment for very little time and money!
Amazing how inspiration can come from the unlikeliest of places, isn't it?
Hope it inspires you a bit!

Plum Purdy New Releases Day 2

I love primitive saltbox style houses, always have, I wish I could live in one, LOL! Combine that love with rubber stamps, and I am in heaven! All of Plum Purdy Designs are fun to color, nice big areas with just the right amount of detail make them easy, not too overwhelming.
And what about the little crow, isn't he darling? I used some old Heidi Grace DP for this one, rustic looking sunflowers that I thought were perfect with this image.
You're gonna love these stamps!

Lighthouse

I love lighthouses. I have started collecting a couple that really appeal to me. This one is from Impression Obsession, I love the big, full moon behind the lighthouse. I have always wanted to take a tour of the East coast to see a bunch of them in different states. Jim and I were supposed to go a couple of years ago around the New England states on his bike, but it hasn't happened yet. I'm still pressing him for it!

I colored this image with my colored pencils and OMS, I applied Liquid Glass to the moon to make it 'shine'. I'm pleased with the way it turned out.

Card Submission for Stampavie

Stampavie is looking for a new DT member and I thought, why not? I'll give it a shot. I love their stamps, I'll keep using their stamps, so might as well see if they like my stuff, right?
I remember when Rachelle Ann Miller first put out some designs in stamps, I was over the moon! I had been an avid reader of her blog for a while, a big admirer of her work, so when I saw that I could get my hands on some rubber stamps, I jumped on it! Of course there were only a few companies that used her designs and they were over seas, so I had to wait...and wait....Torture! They're easier to find now, however, thank goodness!
Anyway, here's one of the first Stampavie designs I purchase a while ago, one of my faves. She's colored with colored pencils/OMS and Copics for her skin.
Hope you like it, I've got tons more if Stampavie cares to see!

Two Little Birdies, Sittin' in a Tree...

I have just a little A2 card to share with you all today using an Inkadinkado stamp. I really like Inka's birds, they're so sweet. Colored the birdies with some Copics, but the leaves and flowers are my usual colored pencils.
I'm off from work this weekend, so I get to just relax, and stamp, of course!
Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend as well!

Many Thanks..

Some very nice people let us use their cabin by a lake last weekend, so I wanted to make a little thank you card for them. This flower from Papertrey Ink is so stunning I had to use it again for another card. I colored it with Copics, but the leaves are colored with pencils and OMS.
I stamped the same flower over Baja Breeze cardstock for some coordinating background paper. The sentiment is from Verve Visual and the gorgeous 1.5" striped ribbon is from Strano Designs. I love the way this card came out!
Hope you like it too, thanks for looking!

What's Brewing?

I've been wanting a set of coffee themed stamps for a while, but just haven't found one that appealed to me. This one from Impression Obsession came really close though! I wish it had a couple more images to the set though, maybe a coffee pot, a gift tag, or something like it. I'm a coffee NUT, love it, have to have it!
I tried stamping it onto plain white cardstock, but wasn't liking the results. I'm having some ink pad 'issues' at the moment with an old Burnt Umber Palette pad. I've had it for a loooong time, I use it for almost all of my stamped images, until recently, that is. For some reason, it won't stamp clearly anymore. Parts of the image come out light, others too dark. It's fully reinked, that was the first thing I did when it started acting up, then it was too juicy, so I had to blot some of the ink off. Well, I just don't know what the problem is. Rubber or clear just won't stamp crisp and clean anymore for me. So I'm testing out all sorts of new brown ink pads to use with my colored pencils, or water coloring. I love the Sepia Versafine ink, but the brown is just a tad too light. I'm using Memento at the moment, but I'm not fully satisfied with that ink either, seems to produce some 'fuzzy' lines. I've tried Brilliance brown, Ancient Page, Adirondack, etc. etc. ..sigh... I really loved my Palette Burnt Umber. Maybe I should just get a new one.
Anyhoo--I finally stamped the sentiment and coffee mug onto Kraft paper, and liked that. Little bit of colored pencil to add some color, too.
Now I'm off to brew me some coffee!

Vintage Picnic

You know what makes me really happy? The fact that Papertrey Ink is making more outline stamps for coloring! I've always loved their stamps, but they didn't have too many line art stamps. Their collection is starting to grow, and I love it! This picnic basket set is a perfect example! Loads of coloring options, for every season! Now that is a well thought out and versatile stamp set.
This is just a pretty every day card, I'll add a sentiment when I decide who gets it. I used Cosmo Cricket's Little Girl Biography paper collection. Beautiful colors, aren't they?
Thanks for looking!

Flippin' Sweet!

Everyone I showed this card to got a big laugh, I love the sentiment! It just cracks me up! I just couldn't think of anything to go with flip flops for a birthday and I had Napoleon Dynamite on the brain, I guess, LOL! So I printed it off on my computer.
I stamped the flip flop stamp from Impression Obsession's Flip Out clear set in Adirondack ink onto DP and cut it out. The flower was stamped onto vellum, then cut out as well. A little orange rhinestone and you've got some really groovy beach wear!
I embossed the shimmery cardstock with a wave pattern Sizzix texture plate, and finished off the card with some aqua twill ribbon and a button.
I have tons of stuff to share in the coming weeks, so keep coming back!

Wedding Wishes

This is a little wedding card I made a few weeks ago for someone I know. I never got a chance to use PTI's With Sympathy set, so I thought this might be the perfect opportunity! I decided to go monochromatic with this one, since I love Stampin Up's old 'in' color Soft Sky. It's a good thing I found a perfect match for this color in Bazzill paper(sea salt), because if I ever run out I'll cry!
Anyway, I embossed the flourishes with white EP, then stamped some of the flowers in Versamark.
It's such a serene feeling card, isn't it? I think when I eventually get my own craft room/studio built I will paint the walls this color! I really love it.
Well it's another rainy day here in NE PA, blahh! Way too much rain around here lately, but I guess the alternative is 90 degrees and humid, no thank you! It's supposed to be nice this weekend though, we'll be heading 2 hours north to a ramshackle cabin on the lake for some fishin' and bar-b-que! I need the R & R in the worst way...
Thanks for stopping by!
