Tilda in a Meadow

I need more of these papers from My Mind's Eye! They are so gorgeous!
The little flower embellishment on the bottom is die cut from wool felt, with a little button sewn in the middle. I have a huge stash of wool felt from my penny rug making days, and it cuts so beautifully with Nesties, Cuttlebug, Bosskutz in my Big Shot. This particular flower was dyed with a Baja Breeze reinker as I didn't have a coordinating color.
Hope it inspires!

Baby Shower Card

Please excuse the poor pictures, I really, really need a light box!

I don't think I've made many baby cards before, I can't think of any posted on my blog. But my aunt requested some for my cousin's upcoming baby, so I really had to dig through my stash to try and find something that would work! I have hardly any baby themed stamps! I thought this Rachelle Ann Miller stamp would would well though, and colored it entirely with very soft Distress Inks.
Pretty cute, eh! I'm going to make her a couple of different designs to choose from, because she's not sure what she wants, LOL.
Till later!

Card Samples for Plum Purdy Designs

I was asked by Renee Mullins from Plum Purdy Designs to make some samples for some of her other stamps sets she sells on her web site. Of course I said yes! Who wouldn't want to play with these stamps! I especially love this gingerbread girl stamp set, so CUTE! I made a card as well as a matching gift card holder. It could also hold a couple of Ghirardelli chocolates. (That's actually where I got the template from ;-)
Cosmo Cricket papers work sooooo well with these designs. They have that folk-arty look to them, which I love. Isn't this ghost the sweetest thing you've ever seen??!

I can't remember who makes this striped autumn colored paper, I've had it in my stash for a while.
...And look at this adorable kitty. He looks kind of mischevious, doesn't he! Like maybe he stole those punkins, I think. I actually colored this guy with Prismacolor pencils and blended with Sansodor. I felt like a change after all my watercoloring, LOL.
Anyway, these stamps are so awesome, very deep etched rubber. I love them, and I really hope to see more of her designs very, very soon!
Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine Tilda

These are the new Basic Grey Bittersweet papers, really pretty! They are perfect for Tilda in her little heart dress. She's colored with Distress inks, with sparkly wings colored with Twinkling H2O's. For once, I gave Tilda brown hair, LOL. I always make her blonde, don't know why.

Enjoy!

Tilda in Baja Blue

Isn't Tilda looking pretty in her blue coat? Along with my current fave DSP, is my current fave color-Baja Blue. I used to think pink was my favorite color, but for the past year or so, it seems like certain shades of blue are. This happens to me sometimes. I'll see a certain paper, or ink, or fabric in just the perfect color, and all of a sudden I am on a mission to find everything in that color! LOL! Last year it was periwinkle, and I still love it, but for now--it's been replaced temporarily with Baja Blue.
Oh well, I am eagerly waiting for the new SU catalog to online this afternoon, I need me some new stuffs!
Till later!

Love Notes V-Day Card

I decided to enter this one in Sugar Nellie's Sugar Bowl contest! How did I not know about this blog sooner?!?

I just don't have that many Valentine's Day embellishments, so I decided to make my own. I have tons of wool felt, in gorgeous colors, some of which I dyed myself, so I wanted to use some of it. The little scalloped circle on the bottom right of this card is what I came up with. I simply stamped a heart image onto a pink piece of felt, cut it out and did a little running stitch around it. I sewed on a tiny little button, then glued the heart to a scalloped circle. Yes, you can cut wool felt with your Nestabilities! Came out beautifully! I did some French knots in pink embroidery floss all around, added some frosted Stickles to the heart, and voila! A cute wool embellishment!

Hope it inspires!

Summer Swing

OK, so it was actually bearable outside today. A balmy 16 degrees! The past few days have dropped down to almost -10 below zero, and it was too frozen to do anything! I quickly set up the cards I've been working on outside, snapped a bunch of pics, and ran back in! Luckily, the light was just right, and I got some good pics.
This is my new favorite designer paper. Actually, I've had it for a while, but just haven't used it yet. But I LOVE it, the color, the pattern, it's perfection. Too bad I'm almost out of it and Stampin Up won't be selling it anymore! I'll have to hunt down some more, somewhere.

Another Sugar Nellie image, by Elisabeth Bell. Water colored with Stampin Up markers, and inks.
Stay warm!

Little Girl with Apple Basket Love Card

Good morning all! I've been having a really hard time taking good pictures lately, too cold, windy and snowy/icy outside, which is where I usually take my pics. I've tried again and again to take good shots indoors, but don't always get lucky. After too much editing, they start to look too different from the original, and I give up.
After another day of snow yesterday, today was sunny and bright outdoors, so some of the light came in through the windows and helped me take a fair picture of this card. I used my new Sugar Nellie stamp that came in the mail the other day from Funky Kits in the UK. Another Elisabeth Bell image, so if you're getting sick of seeing the sugary sweet girly cards, look away now, I've got quite a bit more of these stamps! LOL. I love them though. For some reason reminds me of my chilhood years, when I was into Holly Hobbie, Precious Moments, Care Bears and Hello Kitty.
Anyway, I colored this image almost entirely with Distress Inks and a paintbrush. I love the subtle, aged colors from the Ranger Distress palette. It went perfectly with the Cosmo Cricket Biography line of papers. I made a little stick pin to go through the ribbon knot, just some paper flowers stuck onto a bent headpin, and some tiny seed beads strung onto some wire for curling little 'vines'.
Hope it inspires!

Sweet Bunnies

Is this not the most adorable image?!! I love the sweet little bunnies hugging each other while admiring the pretty flower.
I know it's more like an Easter card, but I don't really send Easter cards out to anyone, so I made it a spring Birthday card. Used a couple of my punched paper flowers to embellish each corner, with a dot of Liquid Pearls for the center.
Hope you like it!

Dressed for Winter

Here's the other Sugar Nellie stamp I got from Funky Kits. (I have more on the way, because I love them so much!) I watercolored most of this one with my Peerless watercolors. I mentioned them in another post, and wasn't sure I liked them yet, but I guess I do! They're very neat, and convenient. No sloppy palette filled with dried up goo, just neat little cards of colors that I bound up with my Bind-it-All.
Hope it inspires!

Planting a Garden

I just got a couple of new Sugar Nellie stamps from Funky Kits. They're by the artist/illustrator Elisabeth Bell. She is enormously talented, and I love her style.

I put a lot of layers on this card, and lots of scallops, LOL! I used floral paper from the Cosmo Cricket Biography Little Girls collection, and it just reminded me of frilly dresses and pretty hair bows! It seemed to suit the sweet little girl with the flowered hat perfectly. I really enjoyed watercoloring this image, soft colors and slightly vintage-y. Hope you like it! No More Christmas Cards!

And on to the next Holiday!! Whew, I am glad Christmas is over, I got a bit tired doing all Christmas themes. Except for snowmen! I will continue doing snowmen until tulips start popping up everywhere, LOL!
Anyway, here's my first Valentine's Day card of the year. Lily & Milo being the perfect subject for a lovey-dovey card. This gorgeous flocked DP is from Heidi Grace, ooooh!
Hope it inspires!

Hot Cocoa Holders

Stamps: Cornish Heritage Farms, Whipper Snapper, Papertrey Ink
Ink: Palette, Distress
Paper: Cosmo Cricket, PTI, SU, Hot press watercolor paper
Accessories: Nestabilities, PTI twill, Clear bags, markers, Stickles, stapler
I actually made these hot cocoa holders a long time ago, the blue one is Debbie Olson's template the other is one from Sonja's Scene. I love the idea of hot cocoa holders, they are so easy for last minute thoughtful gifts, or a little something extra to go with a card. Everyone loves hot chocolate, right!

Keep scrolling down, I'm going to post the rest of my Christmas projects, it's easier to do a new post for each one, instead of trying to format everything in one. Blogger's not so good with that. Thanks for looking!

Christmas Projects

I found a template for this awesome milk carton holder on Inking Idaho's blog. I have to say I am not one to pay for templates, I can usually find what I want for free, or make it myself, but this was so perfect! It was exactly what I needed for a last minute gift, and so well done, I had to get it. Definitely a keeper adaptable to every holiday/occasion! It wasn't hard to do, either, just a bit time consuming, but the result is well worth it! I inserted a couple of bags of home made hot chocolate mix (recipe found on the web), some marshmallows, and old fashioned peppermint sitcks I found in a big box store. Most of the supplies are Papertrey Ink.
AND, when I saw this project on Poppy Paperie I fell in love with the sweet chocolate mice! I knew I had to make some! So my daughter and I whipped out the chocolate and made up a batch! They were pretty easy! And they taste good too. These two small boxes are all I have left of the batch, I made three larger boxes of them for family and friends, and they loved them.

Happy New Year!...and a lot of catching up.

I hope everyone has had a wonderful holiday, and best wishes for the new year! I have been sooooo busy, it's such a relief to finally get settled down and resume my routine. I committed myself to making so many hand made gifts this year, that quite honestly, I was way overwhelmed! Plus I was working more hours than I usually do at my real job getting inventory overstock done before the year was over, so I was stretched a bit thin, LOL.
Anyway, I'm posting quite a few projects today to show you some of what I've been up to. Not all, I made gift baskets, and boxes of chocolate mice that I just didn't have time to photograph (sob!) but here are a small sampling.
This card was for Jimmy, my sweetie. I love how it came out! I used papers from My Mind's Eye Laundry Line collection that I picked up in the new & improved Michael's store near where I work. I love this line of papers, they are to die for! I just picked some Valentine's Day papers my the same co. yesterday, can't wait to use it.

Inside I continued the sentiment with my JustRite stamper I spelled out '...Keep me warm!' LOL. He definitely does keep me warm, inside and out!
