It's FRIDAY! And I have the weekend off again, sigh..... I love saying that, lol.
I'm actually considering doing some container gardening again. This warm weather, and everyone posting pictures of their pretty flowers in their gardens has given me the itch to get my hands dirty. Not to mention I got one of those long wall hanging flower thingy-s for Mother's Day. It's almost like holding a baby after yours are all grown up, you get that tiny little warm spot in your belly...maybe one more?
NOT! Joking, but it's been a while since I planted outdoors and I feel like I may do it this year. Unfortunately, here in the Pocono mountains of Pennsylvania, the deer rule (and trying to dig out a patch of earth is near impossible in our rocky yard), and this is why I have to stick to container gardening on my front and back decks. Which isn't too bad, I had tomatoes and tons of herbs growing wonderfully on our very sunny front deck, I just have to water them a LOT more.
Anyway, here's our sketch for this week:
And here's my take on it. I had to square it up, I just couldn't help it. I love my 6" squares, LOTS of space to add pretty things, and these Uptown Girls are pretty large to begin with. I used 'Posh has a Present' in her pretty, ruffly strapless dress and colored her with Copics. This is the first time I've colored black hair with Copics, and although I need to practice it a bit more, I'm OK with my first attempt.
Fun, colorful papers are from an older Basic Grey paper pad, 'Sugar Rush'.
Next week we have a color challenge. We're using the colors Yellow, Blue and Black. We'd love to have you join us in our weekly challenges, just head on over to Stamping Bella's blog for all the details on how you could join in and win some Bella Bucks.
Thanks for popping by, have a great weekend!

ReplyDeletegorgeous. love the papers x
ReplyDeleteSuch a pretty card. Love the image and your coloring of her. Enjoyed your post about gardening. I spent Mother's day doing container planting of tomatoes, peppers and an herb garden. I didn't do one for the past few years, but thought it would be fun to try again.
ReplyDeleteWow - your colouring is perfection! Love the Uptown Girls and this one is gorgeous!!
ReplyDeleteWhoa, your coloring is truly amazing! Any chance you would start telling us the colors of copics
ReplyDeleteThanks for the kind comment Brenda! I've seriously tried to keep track of the Copic colors used, but I ALWAYS forget to note them. I don't have much room on my work space to keep all the colors I use out till I'm done coloring, so my habit is to put them away as soon as I'm done.
DeleteSorry! Old habits die hard....
But I'll keep trying, I promise, lol!
Aww I completely understand. Would love it if you ever could, I dream of being able to create cards like yours! They are spectacular!!!
