Bellarific Friday Sketch 13

Good morning blog friends! When your mojo goes on vacation, my advice would be to find a sketch to give you a jump start, and this week's Bellarific Friday sketch fits the bill perfectly. Saved my bacon, I would've been in deep doo doo if I had to come up with something on my own!

Soooo, here's my card, as close to the sketch as I could get with a square base. I used Uptown Girl Molly Makes a Detour. I cannot get enough of these Uptown Girls, they make me happpppyyyy!

She's colored with my usual - Copic markers.

Don't forget, you can join in on the Bellarific challenge for a chance to win some Bella Bucks! Head over to Blogabella for all the details.

Have a great weekend and thanks for stopping by!

Sending Love

Good morning friends! I have just enough time to share another LOTV card I made last week using their new Summer Bears stamp, 'Sending Love'.

I'm so enamored of the hexagons popping up everywhere, I had to incorporate them into this card. The papers are from a Mind's Eye Paper Pad.

I've colored the image with Copics and added a layer of Crystal Effects to the balloon to make it nice and shiny.

How do you like the new bears, adorable right?!

Thanks for peeking in!

WANTED: Missing Mojo

Good morning friends! It is time once again, for my mojo to go on vacation. Ms. Mojo never tells me when, or were she will go, it's always a surprise. I am left feeling bereft and unfulfilled and uncreative. Blah...
It's a good thing I don't blog all the cards I make, I can save them for days such as these. I don't usually share these kinds of cards because I feel like I'm better at coloring. I actually struggle with 'stamped only' cards, LOL! But I love making these kinds of cards too, so here it is...

A simple brayered background, stamped over it with Hero Arts lattice background, a die cut border with Memory Box Tessatina die to tie in the quatrefoil theme.

Some pretty stamped leaves and a lovely sentiment, and I have a card I love with no coloring.

But if someone happens to see Ms. Mojo somewhere, on the beach, at the amusement park, tell her to get her butt back home. I get bored easily and need to resume making my cards!

Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Flutter By Bear

Good morning friends, forgive my absence this week so far. I have to say I haven't been feeling very creative for a while, I seem to be stuck in a bit of a rut. Hopefully it will shake loose and allow me to resume my regularly scheduled crafting, I don't like not being creative!

This is a little card I made a while ago using one of the adorable new stamps Lili of the Valley is going to be releasing next Monday, June 25th. It's something a little different because they are very, very small images meant to be companion stamps to the normal sized ones.

I usually make larger cards, either 6" square or 5" x 7" and the LOTV images are perfectly sized for that, but to give you an idea how small these companion stamps are, this is an A2 sized card- 4.25" x 5.5".

So if you like making smaller cards, these are the stamps for you, OR, they are perfect as 'companions' to compliment the larger stamps if you decorate the inside of your cards, or for small tags, bags, boxes, etc. I'm very happy about this and I hope LOTV does a bunch more to match their stamps!

Thanks for stopping by, have a great day!

Happy Father's Day

Good morning friends, let's make sure to make the Fathers in our lives feel extra special today! My own father is far away in NC, but I've already sent him a card and hopefully he got it!

This card was so, so simple to make. I'm almost embarrassed, LOL. My kids gave it to Jim, who they consider their stepdad.

Most of the work has been done by the background paper, it's a printed design from Raspberry Road Designs 'The Old Tacklebox'. I also printed the sentiment right along with the background.

Then I simply stamped some of the large pine trees on the left side in black using Impression Obsession's Cover-a-Card stamp

I added the deer from SU's Nature Silhouettes, sponged in some 'grass' along the bottom, and it was finished.

I told you, too simple!

Have a great day!

Tropical Boo-kay

Hello everyone, it's Bellariffic Friday, and we get to pick our favorite sketch to work with. I chose this pretty & simple one:
I pulled out an oldie but goody, that I discovered too late was DISCONTINUED! (oops, sorry folks) Anyway, it's a pretty little bouquet that I embossed in gold and water colored with Distress inks. Simple and quick! I chose some bright summery colors, Turquoise, Chartreuse and a pretty yellow.

The card base was supposed to be the largest Romantic Rectangle from the Spellbinders die set, but I couldn't measure correctly I guess, LOL. So I ended up only die cutting the bottom of the card base. Sometimes you just have to improvise, right?

I hope you'll join us for next week's challenge, we are Inking up the Girls! Pick your favorite Bella girl and get inky. If your card gets chosen you could win some Bella Bucks, and who couldn't use some more $$ to spend at Stamping Bella?!!

Thanks for dropping by, have a wonderful weekend!

Hello Sunshine!

Good morning all! How about a colorful summery card today? This cutie is a digital stamp from Tiddly Inks called 'Beach Babe'. She's colored in Copics.

The papers are also digital, and the best part is, they are a free kit from Summertime Designs called 'Flipflop-sicles'. She has tons of awesome digital collections on her blog, all for free!

Gotta make it short today, time to hop in the shower and get ready for work already! Thanks for visiting, have a great day!

Inspired by Color

Good morning everyone! Remember the Tessatina die I used on this card a few days ago? I was playing with making backgrounds and two cards were born as a result. This is the other one. Totally different look to it, right? This card was inspired by a color scheme I saw on Design Seeds called 'Crashing Hues'. I fell in love with it and had to translate it onto a card.

So I matched up the colors to cardstock I already had, SU's Soft Sky, Baja Breeze, PTI's Soft Stone, Ocean Tides and Smoky Shadow. The colors look amazing together! Want to know how I got those super delicate die cuts glued onto the paper? That was a PITA and if anyone has any tips for gluing them down, please share!
I poured a small puddle of decoupage glue onto a piece of acetate, then rolled a brayer through it, then brayered glue to the back of the die cut. It worked OK, but a bit of glue ended up getting on the front of the die cut. I had to put a thin coat of decoupage glue all over the finished background after gluing down all the die cut strips to hide it.

It's a very pretty background though, and I love it. I colored Stamping Bella's 'Lucille Sends her Love' in blue green and grey Copics.
I made all the flowers in matching colors using a daisy punch from The Punch Bunch.

Well, that's it! Thanks for stopping by!

Tessie the Teacher

Good morning! Have you been checking out the peeks on Stamping Bella's blog? Lots of new stamps coming soon, so if you've been loving the Uptown Girls or are a fan of Mo Manning's designs, you're in for a treat! Here's one of the new stamps coming out real soon, Tessie the Teacher'.

I just adore her! I colored her with Copics, then cut out the entire image, so I wouldn't cover over the 'blackboard' behind her. I used that real wood paper to die cut a frame, then painted a piece of dark grey cardstock with Charcoal acrylic paint. I 'stamped' the coordinating sentiment on the blackboard, but the white wasn't as white as I wanted it to be, so I went over it with a Sharpie poster pen.

The alphabet border was cut with my Cameo. So are you excited for the new release? I am!

Thanks for stopping by!

Tessatina

So I have this current obsession with quatrefoil patterns and other similar designs. I seem to be collecting them. I have several Silhouette Store cut files already, but then I saw that Memory box has this very delicate Tessatina die that has a similar pattern. Had to get it. I just saw a Hero Arts background stamp with the same pattern, got it. (Saw Jennifer McGuire's project using it with Distress Markers and bought the stamp in 5 seconds flat!). Now I may need Distress markers... I tried the same project with Distress ink pads, and.... not so easy!
What is it about this hobby that obsesses us so much? When does it stop?
Ha! I hope never.

So I was playing around with the Tessatina die, and came up with several backgrounds using it. One of them was this one. Here's how it was done:
I picked a pretty piece of patterned paper I wanted to use and stuck a sheet of double sided adhesive over it. Then I cut four or five strips with the die and stuck those on the double sided tape too. Then I sprinkled a bunch of ultrafine glitter all over it and burnished it down.

LOVE the result!
The stamps, ribbons and papers are from SU.

Bellariffic Friday Sketch 11

Good morning friends, it's Friday and we have another sketch for our Bellariffic Friday challenge.

I pulled out my 'Flora the Cyclist' stamp again, and colored her with pretty spring Copics. I matched her with the papers from My Mind's Eye 'Miss Caroline' paper pad.

This card is so big, I had to piece together two pieces of cardstock to create the base. I just could not bear to cover up any more of the pretty striped patterned paper than necessary, so it's almost 6.5" square!

Plus, I wanted to make a really pretty big bow using this awesome crinkled silk ribbon. I'm going to have to make a custom envelope for this one!

I hope you play along with us, get the details on SB's blog for a chance to win some Bella Bucks!
